We sledded for about an hour or so, Going of huge rock jumps and doing tricks. I was about to attempt to do a backflip when a car pulled up the drive way. We stood there wondering what would happen, when suddenly my friend screamed “It’s Them! Run!” So i took off, leaving my gloves and sled behind. But what i didn’t know was that i left another thing behind to, another important thing.

Half way down the hill running back to his house i noticed that my pants were loose. I checked to see if something had gone wrong when i spotted something. My belt buckle (that had broken off the day before, but i had fixed. well i thought i fixed it) had fallen off into the snow. It was white, so there was no hope of finding it so i kept running. A second later my pants had fallen down. Cold, Sad, and All Alone I was wobbling down the hill with my pants down. I was so scared of what would happen for intruding that i had forgotten to pull them up.

Running down the hill with my pants around my ankles, i looked back to see what was happening. The guy n the car had taken out his phone and dialed someone, and he did not look very happy. With that i took off down the hill and caught up with my friend (who had gotten his sled which he did remembered and was about to sled through the sheet of trees) proceeded to start sledding down through the trees.

In a panic, I took a leap of faith on to the back of his sled. I made it, and we proceeded to slide through the trees. We were both covering our eyes, afraid to see if we were about to crash in to a tree or something.

Sure enough, we found our self crashing into a very large stump. Struggling to get up we ran and jumped behind a big rock and watched the angry man stomp into his house and slam the door behind us. We decided we needed to go get my gloves and sled, so we snuck all the way back up the large sheet of trees and hid behind a snow blank in which the plow man had plowed over. We ran up to the big hill, grabbed my mittens and sleds, and slid back down.

We ran as fast as we could back down to my friends house and locked ourselves in. We never came out, and we never saw the grumpy mean old neighbor again. Luckily, we were safe, and the cops didn’t come. I guess the one phone call was just him complaining to his wife (if the grumpy old man had one). Overall it was a blast, and i thought we had a lot of fun getting in trouble!

It turns out Platt, who was shot in the eye as a child, attacked by K-9 dogs and suffered beatings, calls himself a “general of the civil rights” movement, so it seemed a fitting send-off to Atlanta.

Social Town

This… is social town. The town we all live in when we step on our computer. This is where we go, this is where we connect, this is where we live. It’s crazy isn’t it? Well that’s about it for today. Stay tooned for more posts!

And when the day comes everyone will be huddling in there homes, praying and hoping. The Media has got the whole world scared of the dreaded day. But If I know one thing its that I will laugh at the Mayans when its 2013.

One day, while at my friends house we were playing Lego or Building Blocks or whatever and the phone rang. My friend’s mom answered the phone, and all i heard was “oh no, Oh that horrible”. If i wasn’t scared enough already she walked in and looked at me and said, “Michael, your mother is freaking out!” At the time I had no clue what she meant. Lets go back a few hours… My mother was on her way back from Connecticut where she was picking up my 7 and 3 Year old cousins (at the time). They were coming up to spend a nice fun weekend at Cousin Michael’s house. Well that wasn’t about to happen. Apparently what happened was, while my mother was in Connecticut, i was at my fathers, and while i was there a toilet sprung a leak and had been leaking for a week or so, so she got home only to find a flood in our Dining room, and water pouring out of the ceiling. She told the little cousins to stay in the car while she got everything under control.

Now back to my Friend’s House. I had no clue what was happening at the time so i thought there was a horrible accident or something. I asked my friends mom what had happened and she said sweaty, your moms roof is coming down. Being young-ish at the time I thought the house was coming down so I asked “will she be okay?”. Looking at me like i was an idiot, she said, “oh she’s just fine, she’ll be over here in a few minutes”. Now at the time i had misunderstood the whole thing. I thought the house was falling down and there were fires and explosions. I was way off

My mom came bye and was very stressed. She was complaining about how she was stressed and had to take care of three little children AND have to fix the falling ceiling. I felt somewhat bad for her so i kept asking her questions about the house, wondering if it was okay and if we were going to have to move. She kept assuring be that everything would be okay. I still wasn’t sure what it was like, because i hadn’t seen it yet. But when i saw it i was surprised and relieved. I was surprised because the damage was so small and there was nothing really to worry about moving wise. And i was relieved because everybody was going to be okay.

The repair men came over to check everything out, and they said there was flooding through almost everywhere. They also said the wood would rot if we didn’t do something about it or the house would be ruined. They said we wouldn’t be able to stay in the house for a week or so because there was damage everywhere and they had to bring in dangerous machines to fix it. My mother contacted the insurance company and they payed for a stay at a hotel while the damage was being fixed. So me, My two cousins, and my mother went back to the house to pack some clothes and stuff and a brief description of the house was just plain horrifying.

There were 6 foot fans that could send a cat down the street, chords all over the ground and it looked like a scientist lab, with tubes leading all over the house and electrical chords everywhere. You couldn’t cross over the room without getting shocked by some crazy device with a name that is too long for me to remember. It was chaos, it was horrifying, it was scary. We stayed at a manchester resort with a very soft bed (that in my opinion is better then staying my house). We brought along games and things to keep us preoccupied while our ceilings were being torn limb from limb and the mold was being killed with some kind of strange chemical.  It was pretty scary.

Well in the end everything was fine and the mold and rot was killed. The ceiling was replaced and we were left with Bills and Insurance Papers. Well as I always say all’s well that ends well!

I was about four or five years old, and me and my father were taking a walk with my old dog in the woods behind our old house. We were walking to an old building about a mile behind our house in the woods. It was built in the early 1900′s and it has been a Dorset landmark since. We used to walk up there all the time, my family and I. It was a tube shaped building (it always looked like it was about to collapse because it was made of stones and concrete). It had no ceiling, No door (which you could tell there was one since there were rusty hinges in the opening of the building), and It looked some-what like this. Altogether it was a hot spot for walkers and explorers.

After about 15-20 minutes of walking up a leafy and branchy hill we finally reached the site. I always loved going to that old stone structure. I loved seeing if i could try to solve the mystery of what it was used for or how it used to look. I also loved exploring what old campers from the night before had left there. So I walked around, explored a bit, and and grabbed a walking stick. Now there were two paths you could choose to take (at the time i thought they both led home… silly me). We always took the same old path every time we went so i thought i would spice it up. My dog mysteriously took of running back home so now it was just me and dad. About to depart down the boring path i said to my father that i wanted to take a different path, he thought i had said i wanted to go get a different waling stick.

So there i was, walking down a new path that i had never seen before, still thinking it led home to were my dad would be waiting and my mom would have a nice hot cup of hot chocolate waiting for me. Boy was I wrong. A better way to put it would be: So there I was, one step closer to being lost forever or eaten by some kind of wild animal.

I turned a narrow corner only to find myself in a clearing with trees growing in equal rows and equal columns. It looked like an apple orchard with pine trees (again this is how i remembered it, it might not be how it really was). Meanwhile my dad, noticing that i hadn’t come and found him went back to the structure and started calling my name. I heard his voice in the distance so i called back eagerly.

We were both calling to each other for a while, after a few minutes I sat down next to a tree. I had lost hope, I didn’t know what to do.

Suddenly i heard crunching leaves coming from around the dreaded narrow corner that led me into this god forsaken place. I just sat there and waited for some kind of bear or cougar to come racing from around the corner over to my fresh tender four year old body. Instead of some vicious flesh eating monster, it was my dad. The second our eyes met i was so relieved that i ran over to him. We both hugged for a few minutes before greeting each other. Then he put me on his back and we walked all the way home to my dog waiting at the door and my mom with a nice cup of hot chocolate. I was happy to be home, and now we had a story to tell!

Well I guess thats it.
